Citanest – for the medically compromised patient

CITANEST_BOXES+PRODUCT

Now available in 2.2ml standard and self-aspirating cartridges, Dentsply’s Citanest 3% with octapressin dental injection (prilocaine hydrochloride and 30mg per ml octapressin corresponding to felypressin) reassures dentists and patients.

Citanest is adrenaline free so can be used in medically compromised patients where adrenaline is not appropriate. It contains felypressin as the vasoconstrictor so anaesthetic stays at the injection site, and can be used on patients with a latex allergy.

Dr Billy Chan, of The Gloucester Street Dental Practice in Cirencester, said: ‘Citanest is a safe alternative as a local anaesthetic for patients who have heart problems and those who require a latex free solution. It compares well to lidocaine-containing local anaesthetics in its effects.’
